Basically Affiliate marketing is about choosing products that are In demand and then marketing by way of advertising someone else's products or services to the millions of consumers that are Interested In purchasing them.

Now these products could be related to pretty much anything, they could come in the form of physical goods or they may be digital goods. So for example if they are physical goods they might be books cd's or anything that will need to be physically shipped.

Then we have digital goods that could come In the form of e-books, software, programmes, videos, music-mp3-mp4 or anything that can be transferred via the Internet.

Starting In affiliate Marketing Is a great place to start. It allows you the time to earn while you learn as you don't have to try and figure out html to build a website. You won't have to worry about carrying any Inventory and there will be no worries about un-happy customers or having to give refunds.

All of this is done for you! You just get a link or sales page to promote by way of driving traffic to your offer and In return you will make a percentage for that sale. The percentage varies from one Affiliate product to the next.

One might offer 70% and if you sold a product for $100 then you would make $70.00. Others may offer more or less.
You can choose any affiliate product In any topic or niche to promote.

And It's a wise idea to choose a niche in something that you already have, a hobby or a genuine Interest in. As this will make your learning more fun and it gives you an upper hand from the knowledge that you already know and you will be more likely to stick to it!

It might be, x-box games you're into or gardening, maybe it's self-help, computers, software, dogs, cats there's something for everyone ;)
So once you have signed up with clickbank then choose a product that relates to something you have a hobby or genuine interest in.

So once you are happy with your product choice next you will need to promote it by driving traffic to your offer.
And there are many ways to do that.

You could use article writing by writing articles about related Information to your products and submitting the articles to article directories like ezine-articles or articlesbase or goarticles .
 This option is popular because it's only costing you your time to join up with them. You can join up with them for free.

Another popular way is to have a blog and submit regular content to it about related information and news. Having your own website is a definite advantage but It's not necessary If you don't know how to build one besides you don't have to have one from the get-go.

There are many other ways to drive traffic to your offer. You could pay google to drive traffic to your offer by using "google adwords" but to be honest I wouldn't recommend it in the beginning, as many a new affiliate marketer has lost a pretty penny or two trying to master this traffic driving system.
 

Another popular way to promote your product is to use traffic exchanges.
 

Some more popular traffic exchanges are TrafficSwarm, easyhits4u, adland pro, start exchange, top surfer, traffic g, hit safari, traffic witch and many-many more and they are generally free to join.

There are many available! The Idea is you have your affiliate offer to promote and so do thousands of others. So you advertise your product by way of a unique affiliate url link or a banner both of which will be supplied with the affiliate offer you join up to from clickbank.

You will use these links or banners to advertise In the traffic exchanges. To advertise you will need some credits in your account. You have two options to get credits, the first is you can either buy the credit's (example 20,000 for twenty dollars) or you can build up credits by viewing other people's offers/products on the exchange.

How that works is you will have a certain amount of time you will need to spend viewing other peoples products/offers.

So from within the traffic exchange site itself you will have access to click other peoples links or banners to visit their product/offers, once you have arrived to their offer,a clock will appear and it will begin to count down, depending on what traffic exchange you have joined this will determine how long you will need to stay on that site before you can go on to the next offer.

Every time you stay on a site for the required time(so until the clock stops counting down) you will receive a certain amount of credits and once you have viewed an "X" amount of sites you will be able to use your credits towards advertising your affiliate offer.

So It's a great option to use In the beginning if you don't have a lot of money to throw around towards driving traffic, the only drawback is most people that are using the traffic exchange to promote their product/offers are not really looking to purchase any product's, so it's a hit and miss situation but that's not to say they won't buy something!

I mean If they see something there looking for at the right price at the right time then you just never know ;)
It's a good option for those who can master it.

To be honest I haven't made a lot of sales through using traffic exchanges, but that doesn't mean they don't work they just didn't work very well for me.
 

What I found was traffic exchange's worked great when I used them for offering a free product In exchange for an opt-in to help me build my list which isn't really something you will need to know about when you first start out but something you could keep in mind for further down the road.
